The beauty of what we'll never know | Pico Iyer | 100 Days 100 thoughts

Hello Folks !!

Fear of the unknown is something that stops us from exploring. Is it really necessary? And more than that should we know everything? When it comes to knowledge the more we know is better. It is the lesson we have been taught always, but is it true? Let’s find out through this wonderful ted talk on the topic The beauty of what we’ll never know by this British essayist Pico Iyer in the link below.

Welcome Back !!

Knowing things is very important but in order to explore the unknown, you need to take a leap of faith. In my previous post, I spoke in detail about the trust we place in people, this post is more of an extension of the faith. Knowledge is important, essential, and helps us move forward but will it helps in exploring further?

All the best things happen only when we take the leap of faith. We are not aware of a lot of things in the universe. We should be ready to learn and for that, we need to take the plunge. In order to take that plunge, you should be aware that it is unknown territory. You can very well say that you don’t know and you can be ready to explore. It helps you explore things further, creates ways for you to experience new things. If you think I will enter only if I know exactly how it turns out then you won’t go beyond the safe space and you will never get new experiences and that in a way curtail your life experiences and shortens the spectrum, but at the same time if you have an I know it all attitude you may not be able to survive the exploration, it is absolutely essential to know where you stand. As the speaker says ” Knowledge is a priceless gift. But the illusion of knowledge can be more dangerous than ignorance.”
